Guitar Hero Shows People How to Be a Drummer

Video gaming sure have improved since the original days of Asteroids and all the old favorites of yesterday. Who thought back years ago that one day video games could be used to teach real skills or become so realistic and technologically advanced?

Guitar Hero is not only a game that is exciting to play, but they also say at Harmonix Music that if you can play the Rock Band drum set on the 'hard' setting, you can pretty much play the drums for real! Question is though are you really playing the drums, or just following the pattern you see on the screen? If you can master the video game drumming, it doesn't mean that in you will be able to sit at a real drum set and be able to play. To play real drums you need to be able to read music. which you won't learn playing a game; excellent coordination and rhythm. If you can't read sheet music you will probably not be able to be in a band unless you are musically talented and have the instincts to know what needs to be done. Bands today don't use electronic drums like were so common in the 1980's . A real drum kit gives you actual control over the sound of the notes, their length, volume and more.

One thing real drums won't need is Guitar Hero World Tour cymbal cable, as they don't have cables that are poorly designed and almost always fail.

The smallest drum kits are more difficult to play than the Guitar Hero or Rock Band drum set. For those wanting to make the switch, I'm sure the mental image of a real drum kit is a little scary! Ponder for a moment you're sitting behind a huge drum kit, with the knowledge that your band mates and loving fans all rely on you. If you're able to play professionally you might be a great drummer, but for a new musician even the Guitar Hero or Rock Band drum set can be overwhelming.

The basics of playing the drums is as simple as keeping the beat. So being able to tap your feet means you're a drummer? Not really. Great drummers need to add to songs with their creative touch as well as just setting the beat for the band else to follow. You may not always think about the drums, but if you were to delete them out of the song you definitely would notice for sure!

So, will Rock Band teach you to play like a pro? Most likely not, but you can sure start learning the basics. Get comfortable with the drums through the Xbox game, practice counting the beat, and you are on your way to number one! Make sure you grab a replacement Guitar Hero cable before it breaks!
