Middle East Travel

Whether you enjoy being introduced to new cultures and ethnic cuisines, love learning about history, or enjoy nature's beauty at its finest, the Middle East is the place to go . The Middle East is packed full of some of the world's most historical sights. The Middle East blends the old with the new and the exotic with the ordinary. Some of the Middle East's favorite travel destinations include Israel, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Lebanon.

You might be wondering, which season is best for a trip to the Middle East? If you like the heat and going to the beach, you can soak up the Mediterranean sun during the summer months. For more comfortable temperatures when you still catch a coastal breeze, visit the Middle East from March to May. And if you want to travel to the Middle East in the off-season and avoid the crowds, plan a winter trip to the region, when you will likely encounter cold but not freezing temperatures, rainfall, and the occasional small snowfall.

By far, the most popular and most frequently visited Middle Eastern country is Israel. If you're planning to vacation in Israel, some of the most famous sites include the Western Wall, the Old City of David, and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem. Tel Aviv is most noted for its stunning beachfronts, outdoor cafés, and art fairs. Tourists also flock to Bethlehem, the archeological sites of Tzipori in the Galilee, Masada, and the Dead Sea.

A must-see country on any Middle East itinerary is Egypt. Almost all Egypt vacations include a trip to the ancient Pyramids of Giza. The tallest of the three stupendous structures is called the Great Pyramid, standing 481 feet tall. Another adventure not to be missed is taking a cruise on the Nile River, Along which most of Egypt's cities and populace are located. Most Egypt travel menus also include copper-domed Egyptian Museum in Cairo, the tomb of Tutankhamun and the Tutankhamun Galleries, the Valley of the KIngs, and the Sphinx,

Next on the Middle East travel list is Jordan. Jordan tours feature some of the oldest and most famous Biblical destinations. Dating back to the period of ancient Rome are the cities of Petra and Jerash. If you're a history buff, you will remember that they were once prime trading cities located along the famous Silk Road. Artistry and crafts are another great allure for tourists in Jordan. Along its narrow streets you will find displays of ceramics, jewelry, glass blowing, Bedouin weaving, embroidery, and more. And if you really want to take a ride back in time, enjoy a camel ride in Wadi Rum, located southwest of Petra.

If you don't want to travel alone or if you are taking your family on a Middle East trip, there are plenty of organized tours to join. Choices include Biblical tours, senior citizen tours, bus tours, day tours, week-long tours, and more. If you don't like touring with people you don't know, there are also plenty of professional and knowledgeable private tour guides available for hire.

Finally, here is an expert packing tip when it comes to traveling to the Middle East: It never hurts to carry an extra roll of toilet paper, which is often non-existent in many Mid-Eastern destinations .
