Creator Is Masterfully Written Like A Charles Dickens Novel, But Is Fast-Paced.
Top books to read are not always easy to find. Many books that profess to be top books are not. How come? Just because a book is popular and sells tons of books, in my opinion, does not make it one of the top books to read.
Many of these books simply have great marketing. But then that brings us to the point where we must define what actually makes a book one of the top books to read?
This is subjective. Some people might like Westerns, and consider this genre the best, most people do not.
Fantasy, action, romance, adventure, mystery, philosophy, spirituality, and other genres are what people love. Some like straightforward linear story telling, others like none linear, poetic, or symbolic genres. Of course there a lot a reasons to love or not love any particular book.
Creator is the book I like probably because it has almost has all of the above elements, and that is what makes it one of the top books to read for me. OK, the reason I like a book is different to why you like a book I’m sure. I will put it in a generic way: Creator is worth reading purely for the entertainment value, it is superbly written.
The story:
In the days of yore when the Christian God sends his only son to save the wretched human race, the Olympian spirits send a saviour of their own. Unlike Jesus, the saintly pagan son was not without sin, nor error; nor would he ignore temptations, and desire.
So Daedalus Rufus, In his quest to ease the torment of a secret curse, becomes a mortal god to the people, and he ends up creating a heaven on earth. He turns misery into bliss, and doldrums into merriment and games.
I think the description above works well to describe the linear story, there is way more to discover which is between the lines: the symbolic, the profound elements.
Creator is masterfully written like a Charles Dickens novel, but is fast-paced and makes it one of the top books to read. Creator juxtaposes old with the new combining ancient Rome with modern quantum concepts and philosophies. This really is an original book, taking place in our bloodiest history, that is at the same time a modern myth.
My tip: give Creator a try, it is really diverse on so many levels, and it might become one of your top books to read.

'Sorry, Lads, but the Order Is to Go' $30.49 Drawing from letters, diaries, and official reports from both Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) and Turkish sources, this narrative re-creates in compelling detail the five days of the August Offensive of World War I--the last attempt by the Allied forces to break the stalemate with the Turkish defenders. It resulted in some of the bloodiest battles on the Gallipoli peninsula. Describing the complexity of the battles, this chronicle also details how they affected the soldiers involved. Both visceral and poignant, this narrative is the first to look at the failed offensive as a whole, describing it from both sides of the line. |
